Technology, Innovation and Sustainability: a major work for the mobility of the future

“Opening of the 3-lane Barberino-Florence North stretch”: this is the message greeting motorists using the A1, near our Barberino worksite. 

A strategic intervention on the motorway network connecting north and south, capable of returning the infrastructural system to service conditions suitable to the demand for mobility. This is the best image provided by this major work opened today, 18 March 2022, and constituted by 17.5 km of new carriageways with three lanes plus emergency lane in the southern direction, 10 km of which is underground, including the Santa Lucia tunnel, the longest three-lane tunnel ever built in Europe.
